Yakov Basov (1914-2004) was born in Simferopol. The first art formation has received at N. Samokish studio. In 1946 he returned to the Crimea. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1958. From 1968 to 1976, board member of the Crimean branch of Union of Artists of Ukraine. In 1997, in the town of Alupka a memorial museum of Yakov Basov has been founded.
