Serazhym Oleksandr

1984

Oleksandr Serazhym (b. 1984, Kyiv) is a Ukrainian photo artist living and working in Kyiv and Europe. Despite earning two higher degrees unrelated to art, photography remained his true passion and eventually became his main creative focus. He studied at the Kyiv School of Photography and the Form Photo Academy (France), which shaped his approach to urban spaces.
The main themes of his work are architecture, texture, and color. Oleksandr explores the boundaries of human perception through photography, transforming damaged surfaces into symbols of time and change. Using color as his primary tool, he reimagines urban landscapes, revealing hidden stories and new meanings within cracks and stains.
His art is distinguished by experiments with light, shadow, and color. Oleksandr has participated in group exhibitions in Kyiv, including the 2024 projects “Leap into the Future” and “Sensation of Time.” His series “Structural Changes” won the PX3 PRIX DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE PARIS award and was featured in the book “100 Contemporary Ukrainian Photographers.”
