Zhulan Ann
Ann Zhulan, originally from the picturesque Podillia region, lives in Kyiv. She has a master's degree in "Philology Ukrainian language and literature". She studied artistic photography at the Kyiv School of Photography (Ukraine) and Form Photo Academy (France).
Ann's works are a fusion of emotions, existential questions and the Ukrainian soul, reflected in symbols, images and colours. They have received wide international recognition, being presented at such venues as: Talmart gallery (Paris, France), 7th Chania International Photo Festival (Crete, Greece), Blank Wall Gallery (Athens, Greece), The Chateau Gallery (Louisville, Kentucky, USA), Gallery Omnibus (Dresden, Germany), ARTDOC Photography Magazine (Amsterdam, Netherlands), Art Gallery ‘Platforma’ (Podebrady, Czech Republic).
The artist's photographs were shortlisted for Sony World Photography Award Open 2024; shortlist ‘State of the World 2023/2024’ Px3; honourable mention IPA 2024; shortlist Form Photo Award 2024; Preliminary Screening Young Portfolio 2024 K*MoPA; Official Selection LICC 2023. Her works are presented in the books ‘Sony World Photography Award 2024’ and ‘100 Contemporary Ukrainian Photographers’ 2024 by Form.Paris.
